Member: $20 Non-Member: $35

Topic Overview:

Bloodborne pathogen exposures represent a potentially devastating occupational injury among healthcare workers. Occupational health professionals devote a significant portion of their practice on exposures - evaluating, treating, educating, tracking, reporting, and preventing. This webinar will demonstrate how research and evidence-based practice can inform their management of this crucial concern and assist in bringing about sustainable staff behaviors to reduce blood exposures. The session will include:  Results of the 2017 AOHP-sponsored Exposure Survey of Trends in Occupational Practice (EXPO-S.T.O.P.), the disturbing rise in national incidence,  and an overview of reduction-strategies used by AOHP members to successfully reduce their exposure-incidence.

1.     Review findings of the 2017 EXPO-S.T.O.P. survey.

2.     Identify the urgent need to halt the rising US blood-exposure incidence.

3.     Discuss best practices in reducing blood exposures.
