Title: Safe Strategies for Managing Escalating Behavior

This session will equip participants with critical skills necessary for the identification and SAFE management of at risk behavior. The session will focus on strategies proven to be effective in de-escalating upset and/or hostile clients back to calm and reducing the potential for physical altercations and attacks. Participants will also be instructed on effective strategies for use when faced with actual physical attacks.
David Doto has over 30 years experience in the Healthcare Security Field. He is a content expert for the Crisis Intervention-Management of Disruptive Clients. He was Officer of the year recipient at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital in 2002. David is a nationally Certified Crisis Intervention Instructor with the Crisis Intervention Institute, and has 23 years of experience. He is a Certified Taser Instructor with Taser International, as well as an associate member of the International Association for HealthCare Safety and Security. David is also a member of the Crime Prevention Association of Michigan
