Title: OSHA’s Recordkeeping Standard Changes

Topic Overview: Examine new OSHA recordkeeping/reporting/submission requirements during this informative webinar. The session will begin with a review of which injuries/illnesses need to be reported to OSHA, including fatalities, inpatient hospitalizations, amputations and any loss of an eye. An explanation will be provided on the ongoing obligation of employers to make and maintain accurate records of work-related injuries and illnesses. The program will include a review of what is considered to be compliant employee involvement in the incident reporting program, define what would be considered discriminatory, and acceptable and unacceptable post-accident drug testing policies. Discussion will follow on the new electronic submission requirements that go into effect July 1, 2017.



At the end of this session, participants will:

·         Know what to report to OSHA under the new Recordkeeping Standard.

·         Understand the importance of maintaining appropriate records, and for how long.

·         Recognize what is considered to be complaint employee involvement.

·         Comprehend new electronic submission requirements beginning July 1, 2017.


Speaker Bio:

Dale Glacken, CSP, has worked in the safety/environmental field for the last 33 years as a Safety Engineer, Radiation Protection Officer, Safety Manager and Environmental Manager before working for OSHA. At OSHA, he has served as a Compliance Safety and Health Officer and as a Compliance Assistance Specialist. Glacken is a graduate of Penn State University, where he studied engineering, and he holds his Certification as a Safety Professional and an OSHA Construction Trainer.

Successful completion of this activity includes submitting an accurate registration, making necessary payment, and reviewing all activity slides and the webinar presentation. Completion of the evaluation form is required.
